Hello, my name is Barbara. As the creator of this wiki, All RHOADES Lead Home, I would like to welcome you to our research team! I have been researching the RHOADES family lines for over forty years now, but I still have many blanks. I would like to find others researching the RHOADES family and our collateral lines.

All RHOADES Lead Home will be led by me, with the help of two administrators, Mary and Melody. We will be selecting four moderators to comprise a team to organize and oversee the wiki. If you are interested in this position, please let us know. We would be happy to consider you for the position.
The main focus of our research has been these two generations and their descendants. We have data on many of their ancestors, but would enjoy researching with others.

The third wife of Richard was Gabriella Amizette Michael "Gay", daughter of Andrew Michael and Matilda Feriday Kesterson. Michael-Kesterson Richard and Gay had two daughters, Stella Odessa (married Harley Sampson McKern and is living at 102 years of age) and Opalean Iva (married Raymond C. Coon and John Wendell Peters). Gay had first married Marion Francis Wright, a traveling businessman. They had two daughters, Frances Mary (above) and Maude (believed to have died in infancy). Gay married second to John Wesley Jones and had three children: Catheryn Ann "Kate" (married Marion Summers, Roscoe Charles Hill and Joseph Valdrez), Chloa Tilda "Tillie" (married Byron Russell) and Cecil Cumberland "Jack" (married Irene E. Coin). We found one census which shows we are still missing one child born to Gay, but we do not know which of the three husbands was the father. After the death of Richard, Gay married John R. Hardman and a Mr. Tague.

Richard Alvin Rhoades is buried in the Harris/Odneal Cemetery, near Harris, Sullivan Co., MO with his second wife, Chloa Leasure on one side and his third wife, Gay Tague on the other side. There was a small marker for Mary Elizabeth Rhoades nearby when I visited in the early 1980's, but it no longer exists. Harris Cemetery
